Upcoming CD " No Flatline"--will hopefully be out by January 2005
Welcome all to the EV-150 homepage! This page was made to make a little noise about the artist EV-150 and Auger studios(nicknamed "The Ice Boxx").Hopefully I can meet other musicians and music lovers of electronica from around the globe! I would also like to wish all the artists in the Rochester, NY area good luck(regardless of style) My aka is EV-150,Techno,Drum and Bass,House artist from Rochester,New York..(Just like the Black Sabbath song off of "The Mob Rules").I first heard that lp in 1982 and that track is actually E5-150 but for years I screwed up the name and called it EV-150. After I opened my eyes a little bit I saw what it really said, but I guess the EV part just stuck. |

Rochester,NY has a great local scene with a plethora of Live acts(punk, metal, alternative, funk, jazz, classic rock, emo, folk, etc). We also have a selection of very talented DJ's,MC's and Electronica artists. In the past, the stigma about Rochester was that you had to go somewhere else to make it because Rochester was "an unknown and dead resource"! I have heard comments like this for a long time and frankly it gets stale after awhile. |

Back of CD(song titles)
In this day and age,the PC is a powerful tool! Not only for creating a voice for the user, but also helping the musician or band get off the ground in a more independent fashion. From running ads and webpages,to uploading the artists material, burning CDs,mixdowns, being in contact with people around the globe via E-mail etc,the computer is a great tool. Back in the day,an artist or group would have to depend on ALOT of things in order to make it "big",including a tampering in the artist or groups "image" and sound. I could only imagine the shifty deals made and fine lines being signed in favor of the music companies and not the artist or group. Nowadays if one likes the Indie scene, one can hook up with a knowledgeable friend, take the proper steps(copyrights, sampling permission-etc)record on some decent equipment and push your stuff out there yourself! If your material makes some ripples, there you go.If one wants to shoot for the stars, that is the artist or groups choice.Dreaming big is cool if you like that sort of thing.Money is cool as well but remember,"All money isn't good money". If someone was to ask me what the definition of "making it" was,I would have to quote the drummer of Electric Skychurch. He was asked that question on the DVD "Better living through Circuitry" and he said;"I am doing what I love,I can pay my bills, make a decent living and I don't need to work a 9 to 5.Have I made it,yes!"
